Behind the Lakers Uniform Concepts
It's an interesting time for the Los Angeles Lakers. Kobe Bryant waved goodbye with an epic 60 point performance, Luke Walton has completed his first season as head coach, and Magic Johnson is back calling the shots for the franchise he lifted to global prominence.
What better time to start fresh with a new look? There are times where a uniform holds a connection to a certain era for each franchise. Looking at the Lakers current uniforms, I get images of Kobe and Shaq winning three straight championships, and visions of Kobe taking the Lakers to a further two. It's a time capsule in it's fashion as well as the memories it holds.
This is the perfect time to change that up. To close the book on the Kobe era and welcome in this new crop of exciting, talented young players.
With these designs, I've applied some old school trim with an updated fit. The Lakers wordmark remains unchanged, the colours untouched. A franchise like the Lakers needs no bells and whistles.
